Youth Development Initiatives
What We Do
YDI is a proven game changer for older youth ages 14-17 - especially those who are struggling in high school and with their general social/emotional development. We combine evidence-based life/career development programming and mentoring to prepare youth to graduate high school and transition into post-secondary education, the workforce, or the military.
YDI helps our youth clients to meaningfully and measurably connect the classroom to the real world, to develop individualized education/career plans, and to build the skills necessary to compete for jobs in today's knowledge-based world.
- We specialize in serving OLDER youth, who are the most under-served target population in the Charlotte region.
- Our wraparound model combines life skills training and mentoring to give our youth clients both the training and advocacy/accountability necessary to succeed.
- We actually have a 4-year graduation cohort plan/model in which we have a 100% graduation rate working with the area's highest-risk student population.
